How to Care for Microfiber Cloths
Wash, dry and store microfiber so it keeps grabbing — the care rules that keep them effective.
Microfiber cloths are the world's best surface-cleaning tech — until a few washes ruin them. Fabric softener coats the fibres so they stop grabbing. The care rules are simple and the payoff is years of streak-free life.
Wash separate from linty fabric
Cotton terry shreds lint into microfiber's grasp, degrading both. Launder microfiber together, or alone, in warm water.
Never use fabric softener
Softener and dryer sheets leave a waxy coat that destroys the gripping fibres. Skip them — microfiber doesn't need them.
Air-dry or low tumble
High heat can melt the synthetic tips. Air-dry is safest; if tumbling, use low and remove promptly.
Know the replacement signal
A cloth that pushes liquid instead of lifting it is spent. Retire it to dusting duty, then recycling.

Can I microwave microfiber to sanitise?
No — high heat risks melting and fire; wash and dry normally instead.
How many cloths do I need?
A colour-coded set (kitchen, bathroom, dust) of 6–10 keeps every surface's germs from mixing.
