Dawn Powerwash vs Bar Keepers Friend
The two most-loved kitchen products occupy different jobs entirely: Dawn Powerwash is daily grease-cleanup on counters and cookware; Bar Keepers Friend is restoration chemistry for metal, porcelain and ceramic. Comparing them is really naming your problem.
No kitchens were cleaned in a lab by our team — comparison is research-based.

The differences
Powerwash is about speed: spray, dwell, wipe — meals done between courses. Bar Keepers Friend is about rescue: the crust, the watermark on the stainless sink, the years of discolouration a spray only pushes around.
Performance
Daily: Dawn lifts butter, oil and stovetop splatter fast. Restoration: BKF returns a stained sink or cooktop to near-new — no spray does that.
Maintenance
Neither needs upkeep; BKF is shelf-stable powder; Dawn stays in a refillable trigger either way.
Use cases
Everyday cooks keep Powerwash for the flow; anyone with metal, porcelain or ceramic stains invests in keeping BKF. Both earn a shelf.
Winner by category

Verdict
Start with Dawn Powerwash for the daily flow; add Bar Keepers Friend for the days (and sinks) that need restoring.
Frequently asked questions
Can Bar Keepers Friend clean cookware?
On the outside of stainless — yes with rinsing and elbow grease; it's not a dish detergent for interiors.
Is BKF safe on my marble counter?
